Mit der Version 6.0 von Zabbix wurde das Service Monitoring komplett neu aufgestellt. Tags sind nun der Dreh- und Angelpunkt für die Überwachung von Services. Ein Wegweiser durch den "Dschungel" des Business Level Monitoring.

Die Integration einer CMDB mit Zabbix ermöglicht die Automatisierung von Überwachungsprozessen. Durch die Nutzung der Zabbix-API können Objekte wie Hosts, Trigger und Actions automatisch aus der CMDB generiert und konfiguriert werden. Auf diese Weise können Änderungen an der IT-Infrastruktur automatisch erkannt und Überwachungsprozesse automatisch aktualisiert werden. Die Effizienz der Überwachung wird damit verbessert und Fehler minimiert.

Das Monitoring von Systeme via SNMP ist ein wichtiger Kernbestandteil einer Netzwerküberwachung. Häufig werden dazu hunderte von einzelnen Abfragen an das jeweilige Gerät geschickt. Mit der Version 6.4 hat Zabbix einen deutlich verbesserten Mechanismus implementiert um die Anzahl der Abfragen zu reduzieren und gleichzeitig die Performance in der Verarbeitung zu erhöhen. Dieser Talk zeigt die Änderungen auf und gibt Beispiele und Empfehlungen wie bestehende Templates anzupassen sind.

This presentation is going to include some things to watch out for when creating your own template, in order to optimize both performance and resources. The presentation will also include a new features on dashboards.

Während Zabbix seinen Ursprung in klassischen, aus Servern, virtuellen Maschinen und Netzwerkgeräten bestehenden IT-Infrastrukturen hat, spricht man in der Cloud-Nativen Kubernetes- und Containerbasierten Welt von Observability, Service Discovery, Metriken-Endpunkten und Prometheus. Wir beleuchten, wie man mit Zabbix Containerbasierte Landschaften überwacht und wie man die Integration zwischen Prometheus und Zabbix realisieren kann.

Vorstellung einer technischen Lösung, bei der die Zabbix PostgreSQL Datenbank so gesichert wird, dass nur die Konfigurationen enthalten sind. Ziel der Lösung ist ein automatisiertes Backup, dass mit Change Data Capturing, die Backup Datenbank bei Konfigurationsänderungen auf Stand hält. Alle Daten, die nicht benötigt werden, wie z. B. History, Trends, Events, Alerts etc. werden nicht mitgesichert

How can we integrate an alerting service with Zabbix using SIGNL4 as an example? This talk provides the idea and process of creating an alerting media type for Zabbix with the purpose of reliable alerting. It also covers two-way functionality for sending status updates back to Zabbix, as well as how to alert users when the Internet connection is down and other real-world customer scenarios, including customer demand for reliable mobile alerting, how to quickly and easily add mobile alerting to Zabbix (including a quick walk-through of how SIGNL4 was integrated into Zabbix), bi-directional integration for status updates.

Sometimes you are working with a beautiful product, but Zabbix doesn't speak its language. How can we integrate it? Juniper Mist is becoming more and more popular, but as it is "cloud only" there is no such thing as SNMP, and not even a full API that provides the metrics. It is able to communicate via a websocket; but Zabbix doesn't understand that. But fear not - we've built an integration that is able to receive that data and push it into Zabbix.

Hello-World und Demo-Applikation sind in Self-Hosted Kubernetes Umgebungen schnell umgesetzt. Wenn jedoch Applikationen produktiv verwendet werden sollen, tauchen verschiedene Fragen im Detail auf wie z.B. die Verwaltung von Passworten/Secrets und Konfigurationen, die Bereitstellung von TCP/UDP Ports für Services oder die Bereitstellung von persistentem Speicher. Dieser Talk zeigt am Beispiel von dem Deployment von Zabbix in Kubernetes Ideen und Konzepte auf, um diese Fragen zu adressieren.
