Zabbix SIA in cooperation with Above IT B.V., a Zabbix reseller located in the Netherlands, had signed a contract for providing Zabbix support services to Gemeente Den Haag.

Gemeente Den Haag is the Municipality of The Hague which provides full range of services to more than 500,000 of its residents, thousands of businesses and millions of tourists visiting city each year. From issuing visitors' digital parking permits to managing public transportation system, from helping its residents to find a house or work to assisting in establishing and running business, Gemeente Den Haag has to ensure fast and reliable operation of all these services.

After a recent consolidation of support departments within Gemeente Den Haag, 3 different monitoring solutions were in use. In order to unify this to one solution, all 3 monitoring solutions were compared in terms of features, ease of installation and extendibility. Based on these factors the choice was made for Zabbix.

Key benefits in favor of Zabbix for Den Haag were combination of both health monitoring and performance statistics in one solution, a wide variety of clients that can be monitored like Solaris, Linux, Windows and Novell, and devices like UPS, power usage monitors and disk arrays, many checks need no more than an agent being installed and ability for to write your own checks.

Due to strong and long customer relationship, Above IT is considered a trusted partner with the IT-department of Gemeente Den Haag. Therefore municipality has contracted Above IT to support implementation of Zabbix as unified monitoring solution.
