Under normal operation, Zabbix makes strong associations between host and items. Each agent normally collects items in relation to its host. From 10 standalone Zabbix platforms to a major one in the cloudA few years before, we used to deploy multiple independent Zabbix Servers ( + DB and Frontends ), for each new Cloud platforms we deployed worldwide. We soon met limitations, both in term of performance, flexibility, so we decided to rethink our monitoring tools and even reconsidered our use of Zabbix. Finally, we decided to try our best to build a resilient and performance proof platform using our own cloud, a better configuration of Zabbix as well as an architecture using the Zabbix Proxies… And more !
