    Host dependencies, network paths/topology?

    Hi!

How do I set host dependencies?

I have a remote site with a router, and some hosts to monitor behind that router.

I'd like to add 'dependency' of the router to all the hosts behind it.. if router (or the connection) goes down, I only get alarm of the router.. not all hosts behind it.

    Thanks!

Go to the config for your triggers for the hosts behind the router and under "add dependancy" choose the trigger that determines if the router is up or not.. click Add and save.

      hi,

I'd like to do the same thing.
I have a router and several hosts behind and dont't like to have many alerts when the router goes down.
The difference is that all my hosts and routers inherit from a same template named base that provide a icmppingsec item and a trigger which is set to ON when a linked host is down.
So I'd like to specify that some hosts depend on the router. But when I click on "Triggers" besides the name of the host, it is not possible to edit the trigger for this host. There is a link only on the template name of the parent template.

      How should I do ?
If it is not implemented yet, is there a wokraround for the moment ?

      Thanks,

I also need to understand how to setup dependencies between my different hosts for the same reasons already noted in this thread. I welcome any tips or instructions from fellow Zabbix users.

The 1.4 manual PDF doesn't provide much information on trigger dependencies.

        "4.11.2. Trigger dependencies
        [To be finished]"

        Thanks,

        Clayton
